Sensor System Installation & Drilling the Holes
NOTE TABS BELOW TO ACCESS DIFFERENT SECTIONS
The Installation of the sensor system is simply a matter of peeling off the backing of tape and sticking the system boards to the printer. Attaching the sensors to the tanks and plugging the sensor connectors to the boards in an organized manner.
Instructions for Door Defeat:
Instructions for installation and use of the Sensor System:
Instructions for modifying the tanks.
If starting out with a new printer with the OEM chips, you simply remove each tank as it becomes empty. Using either a known good sharp drill 5/32” or one of the specific drill bit for plastic ( Preferred) you drill a hole ¼” or so away from one of the top corners of the tank.
After drilling the hole., fill the tank with some water. With the face down, depress the valve spring loaded stopper inside the outlet. Water will quickly empty from the drilled hole along with any debris.
Repeat once more if desired and empty the tank as much as possible.
The tank is now ready to be filled, plugged, installed and then the sensor attached to the face.
If you are installing the tanks on a printer on which the tanks are currently being overridden, the procedure will slightly vary.
Drill the hole into the tank when the tanks are at a low ink level.
Using a long needle and syringe, remove as much as possible of the ink inside using a syringe and needle. Towards the end, you will need to sacrifice a little bit of ink. Leave a tiny bit inside that might be holding debris. Now you will fill with water and continue like above.
When finished you can put the saved ink back inside.
Now everyone will encounter a situation where some tanks are not modified as yet and some are and the unmodified tanks have the lights on. This is a pain. I understand. Fortunately there is a solution. Simply take a bottle of water or liquid and attach the unused sensors to the bottle. You will need a bottle for each side of the printer. As the tanks are modified, you will transfer the sensor from the bottle to the modified tank when it is installed. Since this this a temporary condition until all tanks are modified, you should attach the sensor with masking tape rather than using the gel tape on the sensor.
